1. Add the native file to any notebook you have by using the drag and drop method. This is only done through the drag and drop method. It cannot be done through Add Media.


Note: Native files will not be added at any time to the media bar.


2. When you expand the folder the file icon will display the native file.


3. Ready to show it? Select the file by clicking it once, OnCue provides options to open this file:

  • Double-clicking on the native file shortcut

  • Using the Hotkey (F5) or pressing the Publish button

  • Click in the Dialog box in the Viewer Window

Does OnCue take files like PowerPoint, Excel or Autocad?


Native File shortcuts can be added to a Notebook. OnCue cannot show a PowerPoint or an Excel file or a Word doc. You are not actually adding the file into OnCue, but it does copy the original file to a folder called _native in your case folder and creates a shortcut link in OnCue that will open the file in the default application for that file type i.e. a *.pptx file will open in PowerPoint.


NOTE: OnCue annotation tools will not be available as you are not showing them in OnCue.
